Fee Payment and Contractual Obligations

The Offer of Place for International Students is a contractual agreement for the full duration of study listed in the offer. Listed in the offer is the Foreign Student Fee which is made up of Tuition Fee, Administration Fee, Course-related costs, and the Insurance Fee for WelTec’s default health and travel insurance. The Insurance Fee must be paid unless the use of an alternative insurance provider has been approved in advance by WelTec.

Full payment of all fees listed in the Offer of Place is required prior to programme commencement. Enrolment will not be complete and students will not be permitted to attend class until full payment is received.

Making a payment indicates an acceptance of the contract for the period of one academic year (or the length of the programme if less than one year). This contract means there is an obligation to pay the fee for the year (or the length of the shorter programme).

Protection of International Student Fees

As a signatory to the Education (Pastoral Care of International Students) Code of Practice 2016, and in adherence to the New Zealand Crown Entities Act, the Education Act, and WelTec Council regulations, WelTec has a fee protection policy in place that safeguards all fees paid by international students.

Paying your fees

There are two ways to pay fees at WelTec:

  1. Bank transfer
  2. International funds transfer

Paying your fees by bank transfer (telegraphic transfer)

      1.   Make the payment

Please ask your bank to include a description and some personal information to make it easy for WelTec to identify the deposit.

For example: "(Student name), (Date of birth), Tuition fees".

      2.    Email us a copy of the payment receipt

Please note:

  • WelTec only accepts telegraphic transfers. WelTec does not accept bank drafts.
  • WelTec prefers payment in New Zealand Dollars.
  • Receipts are only issued once your fees payment has been verified. This can take up to 10 working days.

 

International funds transfer

WelTec uses the Western Union Business Solutions payment portal for making your international tuition fee payments. You can pay from your bank account with a telegraphic transfer, or domestic transfer.

    Telegraphic transfer – choose your country and currency*

4. Enter the details of the person making the payment and print your bank transfer instructions

5. Complete your payment at your local bank branch or with online banking using the printed instructions

*due to international banking regulations, transactions in some currencies are not available. If your currency does not appear as an option, please select an alternative currency such as USD$.
