For those wanting to pursue engineering, but needing to build foundation skills.
Gain knowledge of mathematics, physics and engineering principles relevant to civil, mechanical or electrical engineering. Complete individually-tailored courses: mathematics, physics, algebra, calculus, study skills and a discipline-specific topic.

Entry criteria

10 credits NCEA Level 1 numeracy and 10 credits NCEA Level 1 literacy or equivalent study/work experience.

You'll also need to complete an interview and study assessment.

International IELTS

Minimum IELTS (Academic) score of 5.5 with no band score lower than 5, or equivalent.

 

Further study options

NZ Certificate in Study and Career Preparation (Level 4) - Engineering

On successful completion of the NZ Certificate in Study and Career Preparation (Level 4) - Engineering students can progress to the New Zealand Diploma in Engineering (Level 6), and then continue further to the Bachelor of Engineering Technology (Level 7)
