New Zealand Diploma in Veterinary Nursing (Level 6)

Effectively manage and treat animals in a clinical environment through a combination of technical skill, medical knowledge and sound judgement in animal welfare. Practise your skills in local veterinary clinics and in our simulation clinic.

You will be eligible for registration with the New Zealand Veterinary Nursing Association and equipped to work as a veterinary nurse.

Entry criteria

Successful completion of New Zealand Certificate in Animal Technology (Veterinary Nursing Assistant), or equivalent qualification, and the following:

  • Interview – to assess your suitability for the programme
  • Curriculum vitae and two personal referees
  • Personal statement and health declaration
  • Police check (completed annually)
International students

Minimum IELTS (academic) score of 6.0 with no band score lower than 5.5, or equivalent.
